English Introduction
The VM-63A portable digital vibration meter is a professional instrument widely used for mechanical equipment vibration measurement, produced by RION, a Japanese company. Weighing only 250 grams, it is convenient to carry and operate. This device can measure three parameters: vibration displacement, velocity (severity), and acceleration. By measuring data on the bearing housing, it can determine the condition of equipment (such as fans, pumps, compressors, and motors) according to relevant standards or corporate criteria, such as good, cautionary, or dangerous states.
The VM-63A vibration meter features a piezoelectric shear acceleration probe. It has a wide measurement range, with acceleration ranging from 0.1 to 199.9 m/s² peak, velocity from 0.1 to 199.9 mm/s RMS, and displacement from 0.001 to 1.999 mm peak-to-peak. The frequency range is also extensive, with acceleration divided into 10Hz to 1kHz (LO) and 1kHz to 15kHz (HI), while velocity and displacement both cover 10Hz to 1kHz. The instrument is equipped with a 3-1/2-digit digital display, which updates every second. Pressing the MEAS key initiates measurement, and releasing it holds the measured value. Additionally, it has an AC output function with a full-scale output of 2V, capable of connecting to a headphone (VP-37) and a load impedance of over 10k ohms.
The VM-63A vibration meter operates on a single 9V battery, providing approximately 25 hours of continuous use and featuring a 1-minute auto-shutoff function. It can function in an environment with temperatures ranging from -10 to 50 degrees Celsius and relative humidity below 90%. With dimensions of 185×68×30mm, it is easy to carry and store. The standard package includes the VM-63 host, a soft case, a battery, a short probe S, a strap, and a user manual. Since the mid-1980s, this instrument has been widely used in large and medium-sized enterprises in China, with an extremely low repair rate, making it an ideal inspection tool.
