Based on the classic photoelectric effect principle, this modular-structured device enables students to independently explore the relationship between photoelectron kinetic energy, incident light frequency, and intensity, thereby verifying the core theories of Einstein s photoelectric equation. Equipped with a high-stability light source system and low-noise signal acquisition module, the apparatus accurately measures cut-off voltage and photocurrent characteristic curves of metallic materials under monochromatic light irradiation across various wavelengths.
The system comprises three core functional modules: The multi-band adjustable light source provides visible to near-ultraviolet light ranging from 365nm to 650nm, with precision filters ensuring accurate wavelength control. The phototube measurement module features low dark-current design and programmable voltage regulation (0-30V continuous adjustable reverse voltage). The open experimental architecture allows users to interchange photocathodes with different work functions, facilitating comparative studies on material properties.
